The term "Marble Mountains" is commonly applied to the northwestern Salmon Mountains range in northwestern California. The Salmon Mountains are sub-ranges of the larger Klamath Mountains, and are part of the Pacific Northwest Coast Ranges. The area is considered to be among the most beautiful places in the world.
The most common access point to Marble Mountain is from the Pacific Crest Trail, which goes through the lower part of the mountain. The trail offers great vistas while passing through meadows and forest. There are also many good camping sites in Marble Valley. The Sky High Lakes are within easy distance of the Marble Rim, and Shadow Lake lies high on the cliffs above the Sky High basin.
If you're planning a trip to Vietnam, Marble Mountains are an excellent day trip from Hoi An. The area is about 45km (28 miles) away, and you can reach the mountain by car or motorbike in about an hour. The Marble Mountains are also close to Thuy Son, which is home to a Buddhist sanctuary. A must-see view from Mt Thuy is from the summit.
The Marble Mountains also have numerous sacred temples. While visiting the area, visitors are encouraged to dress modestly. Shirts with sleeves should be worn and pants should cover the knees. Visitors are allowed to bring snacks and beverages, but they should leave the sites clean and tidy.
